About the Founder

Isabel Wang is a junior at Rice University majoring in Health Sciences with minors in Data Science and Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She is a professional figure skater and instructor with over a decade of experience. In 2022, Isabel launched Adaptive Skating HTX after seeing the challenges that her family friend faced after being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her goal is to create a welcoming and fun environment for children of all abilities to experience the joys of ice skating.

Isabel is a competitive Junior Ice Dancer with a Gold Medal in Moves in the Field, Pre-gold Medal in Ice Dance, and Gold-level distinction in the USFS Senior Program. She also has extensive experience working with children with disabilities, having previously worked with a therapeutic skating program in Great Neck, NY.

She is grateful for the opportunity to help children gain confidence, develop physical skills, and connect with a community through the power of ice skating.
