Founded at Rice University, Adaptive Skating HTX creates a fun environment for children of all abilities to experience the joys of gliding on ice. Learn more about our program here!

A look into our first session

Our first session of Adaptive Skating HTX kicked off in January 2023! It was a huge success, and we are so proud of all our students for their courage and enthusiasm toward trying something new. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for making this possible.

What Parents Say…

  • “Our son Clark participated in this program and absolutely loved it! It’s wonderful to see him take to something, since he is pretty selective in his avenues of interest… I would gladly recommend this program to anyone who is interested!”

  • “Everything was excellent... My children were always very happy and motivated to go to class... My children are afraid of many things, but with the help of the volunteers, they felt very comfortable and happy. Thank you a thousand times for offering this much-needed space for my sons with Autism. My children now have more confidence in themselves.”

  • "It was humbling to watch and know that there are such amazing young souls out there that are learning to deal with our kids with special needs. These are the people I hope will help build a better future for our children."
